Well, it has already been well over a month since i started this experiment, it has actually been exactly 40 days since i kicked this thing off. I am really sorry because i do not want to post images with this post. Honesty, it is just so much work and i might be adding them in later. What i am going to do is conclude this experiment with my own unique analysis.
So, basically this is what happened:
Website -1 - Since the last update this website has actually attained a number of #1 rankings in Google. However, as of today this website slid back about 3-4 places in the Google SERPs. The reason for this is the fact that it is no longer being actively promoted. While doing this experiment i have decided that i no longer want to target the keywords that i was targeting with this experiment.
Product is not converting very well at all so i discontinued the link building. The results for this website turned out great, and the 7-10 option using the BMR network turbo boosted this website up the rankings. It proved to me that with more links especially strong links from the BMR network you can move your website up the rankings faster.
Website – 2 - This website saw great movement in the SERPs with the 4-6 post per day option using the BMR network. Overall this website improved since the last update. No #1 spots with the keywords for this website, but all keywords were on the first page, the keywords here are “used to be on the first page”.
I would love to explain what happened. I would have to look into analytics to find the exact dates for when this happened, but that is irrelevant. As of today, 40 days into the experiment the page targeting all of the keywords has basically vanished from the SERPs. A quick check in Market Samurai revealed that all of the keywords are ranking anywhere from 390 up to 759 in the Google SERPs.
With all of the excitement, i had made a mistake in my SEO efforts. This is a great lesson for any newbie marketers out there. When you are link building for your websites, make sure to add many ‘junk’ links, to balance out your link profile.
There is a very REAL piece of the Google algorithm that checks your link profile. Always add plenty of links that are just your site URL as the anchor text. You cannot simply stuff all of your anchor text with keywords.
A legitimate site would have lots of links to their website with only the site name or something like that as the anchor text. This is what i had forgotten to apply to this experiment. I checked the backlink profile of the page that is penalized right now and it had zero siteurl anchors text.
I have added another 20-30 posts worth of junk links such as the siteurl and other junk links such as “click here”, and “this cool website”. Always diversify your backlinks with varied anchors, partial match anchors, and junk anchors.
At any time i will witness website 2 rise from the depths of the SERPs, only to show me stronger rankings in the SERPs. It is important that you always vary everything that you do with Internet marketing so that you can create successful web properties that not only look natural, but are natural in essence.
The real nugget that i gained from this experiment is the ability to push harder. I have always been very “safe”, when it comes to link building. I was always afraid of the unknown. I would think to myself, “I really need to take this slow and steady or else this will happen…” I never really knew why i was doing this, what i was afraid of.
Once you reach the mindset where you know all of this stuff really works, and also, that it is a long-term thing, and i mean LONG TERM as in, a year or more to get some good income, that is when you can drop restraints, and really go after what you want. What i am trying to say is, i am now able to assess a situation, or thought process, and figure out whether that thought process is flawed, and why i am thinking the way i am.
By asking myself, why i am afraid to push my link building harder, i came to the conclusion that i really wasn’t scared of my website “disappearing” for a while. I was able to delete the thought process that was hindering my true link building capabilities. This new way of thinking is a thought process that i can apply to any aspect of my life.
Now i am not afraid to blast all of my new websites with the 7-10 option on BMR, and the reason why is because i have seen nothing but great results in doing EXACTLY that. It is truly a great feeling to realize that you have developed a system that can make you 100$ dollars a month (just a random figure). You can now take that system and make 10,000$ per month with enough time, and manpower.
Those of you guys and girls out there that are going solo right now with your IM business, you need to create your own system, and i mean YOUR OWN personal system that works for you. You can see what other people are doing, but make sure you adapt whatever they are doing to your own system so you can grow and learn.
Sorry for the presidential speech i just laid on you, but it is really important. There are many stages that you will pass through as an Internet marketer. How you deal with these stages, and how you learn from them, will determine whether or not you make it in this business. Anyone that is currently soloing the whole MMO thing, make sure that at some point you outsource so you can truly grow your Internet income streams.
Start out by yourself if you have more time than money, if you have an equal amount of time and money (part-time full-time job) make sure you are truly putting in as much effort as you can as a 1-person business. Work for as long as it takes so that you have enough capital to outsource and truly grow your business to immense proportions.
You can only do it all alone for so long, and you will have to from the beginning. Even if you have lots of cash to drop into your business, you will still have to do it alone at first so you can develop your own unique system. At some point you will have your system, and the capital that you truly need to grow your business, and at this point you NEED to quit the 1 person army thing, and outsource to grow your business.
Anyway, this experiment has come to an end. I hope you had a happy new year, and i hope that you had a great 2011. I also hope that 2012 will be the year that you obtain financial freedom through Internet marketing. You never know when the next big thing might pop up and destroy the opportunities that we have here with the Internet. Get in, get wealthy, and make enough money to last you for your entire lifetime.
It feels funny writing all of this because i know it won’t be until a much later date that this website gets enough of an audience for this to do any good. It is my birthday tomorrow, January 3rd, and i look forward to celebrating it with my family. With all of that said, i will bring this experiment to an official close. Although i did get tremendous value from this experiment, i will come up with a much better experiment for your all in the near future. Let’s make 2012 really count for our online business, ya?
